An Adventure!

OK, not a really BIG adventure, but fun anyway. Dave came home from the store this morning with directions to an out of the way boat ramp, guaranteed not to be buzzing with jet skis. As usual, when Dave goes to town, he ran into a buddy and got to talking. I swear it takes the guy 2 hours to run to town for milk.ย  He always makes it back with the milk plus all the gossip that’s fit to repeat (and alot that’s not – this is Rabun County, after all).

Oh, did I mention we now have a boat? Serious yacht – 13′ 40 year old aluminum boat ($100 + $20 repairs), 6hp Johnson motor (43 years old – free), on a trailer (unknown age – free + $30 repairs). Pictures in a later blog.

So today we head out on the back roads and later on gravel roads to find a wonderful quiet spot on a pretty river. We didn’t take the boat as this was just a scouting trip. Plus the river does end up at the lake and Labor Day weekend is NOT a weekend to be on the lake with a slow moving boat – or in any boat if you want my opinion – and if you didn’t want my opinion, you ought not to read my blog ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s a pretty place:

With lots of summer wildflowers (do you see the spider?):
